Prime Railroad Products (Formerly Prime Canada, Ltd) was established in Quebec, Canada in 1965 as a division of Prime Manufacturing Corporation to service the Canadian Railroads with quality locomotive accessories and cab components. In the 1980’s, Prime Canada moved its manufacturing facility to Prescott, Ontario.
In 1995, Prime Manufacturing Corporation was sold to other interests while Prime Canada remained with the original owner. In 1997, the present owner and former Vice President of Prime Manufacturing Corporation purchased the company and brought with him over 40 years of industry knowledge and manufacturing innovation to the company.
Until 2007, there was a non-compete agreement in place that prevented Prime from entering into the US railroad and transit markets. Following the termination of the non-compete, Prime began to supply major US railroads, shortlines, rebuilders and OE locomotive builders with the quality cab components that were previously available in Canada. In 2010, Prime again moved its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution to Pensacola, FL and quickly expanded into a larger facility in 2012 to support our North American and global customers. For nearly 50 years, Prime’s reputation for quality, innovation and customer support has made us the supplier of choice for locomotive components.
Today, Prime Railroad products is pleased to announce our next generation of locomotive cab products. Our PMC-138 series is available in 115vac (for locomotives equipped with an on board inverter), 74 VDC with an integrated inverter, or our NEW 74VDC hermetically sealed compressor with BRUSHLESS DC motor. Prime’s premium line of refrigerators, hotplates, aux. heaters and inverters are the products of choice for the North American OE locomotive manufactures, rebuilders and railroads.
As Prime continues to grow, we are actively seeking international distributors for Prime Railroad Products. Please e-mail us for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1+ 850-332-7193
